Himitsu is now closed. Feel free to play automated games if you haven't already and finish what's left of your level ups and masteries.

It's been a little over a year since the TCG first opened, and it's definitely been an interesting experience. I can't believe I helped create something that so many people enjoyed for such a long time. Thank you, Himitsu players, for helping keep the TCG active for the past year!

Special thanks to all the staff we've ever had, especially Kiss and Shannon who helped me out and put in so much hard work to get this TCG up and running! Everyone contributed so much to helping Himitsu and I truly appreciate it. Kiss, Shannon, Lita, Rizu, C, Hollie, Styx, Liese, Katy, Maltran, Gigi, Adelicya, Lex, Kiri -- Thank you!

Hi, everyone! Once a week, I'm going to give you a topic. All players need to do is give their opinions/stories/comments on said topic. There's nothing really formal about this, but you'll get cards for answering regardless. There's no requirement about how big or detailed of an answer you give, but try to avoid one word answers! (This is about talking, after all)

This week's topic is GOODBYE HIMITSU.

Share a favorite memory about Himitsu, or something you enjoyed about the game or its players! Is there someone you'd like to thank for being extra nice, or for always giving you big trades, or always holding slots for you? What were your favorite decks or games here? Any parting words you'd like to share? Let's spread the Himitsu love one last time. ♥

You'll get 4 regular cards, 2 puzzle cards, and 2 special cards for commenting. Prizes will be distributed throughout the week and this game ends on Saturday, June 6th.

I know some people have +2 donation coupons from the latest lottery or saved from before, and since they're now unusable, feel free to comment on this post with any donation related coupon(s) you still have to receive some random cards! Thanks to [personal profile] netbug009 for bringing this to my attention.

Actually what the heck, if you have any other unusable coupons leftover, like bonus rewards for graphics donations, extra slots for the release, etc., anything that can't be used in any of the other services, post them here too, might as well get some sort of reward out of them.

This may be unsurprising yet disappointing (and for that I'm sorry), but... Himitsu will be closing on June 6th, 11:59PM EST. For the rest of May and that first week of June, game prizes will be doubled or tripled, there will be various freebies, it will cost one magazine for books/BD's, and restrictions will be taken off of services. Book donations will be open, but deck and graphic donations are closed. Unfortunately, there will not be a release. Once June 7th rolls around, new posts will stop. Any leftover pending comments will still be responded to, but that's it. This is so everyone has a chance to finish collecting decks and so we can go out with a bang!

[personal profile] scblakdrgon: "For Bookstore Donations, you may donated as many times as you want but only 3 donations per comment and there must be 1 comment between your donations UNLESS you are donating a single series. You may put them in the same comment in that case.

And adding on to Lily's announcement about the change in the magazine to book/bd rate, everyone who has purchased books/bds in May can go back to their original post and pick out more books. I will be going around to the posts as well.

I considered for a few days putting Himitsu up for player adoption (as the staff isn't interested), but in the end I honestly believe it's just time to put the game to pasture. Himitsu has been slowly dying for a while now, I think journal-based TCG's in general are dying out (the exception being Colors). It's obvious from the donations, the games, the services, and the double Gatherings. I mean, one of the Anniversary posts had no activity on it at all. It's honestly just... sort of sad. Please don't get me wrong. It makes me happy that those of you that have stuck around love this TCG, even to the point of offering help! I'm just doing what I think is best.

EDIT: There seems to have been a misunderstanding. No one has offered to take over the game. I was referring to how players were nice enough to offer help with game modding in the past. None of the staff is interested in taking over the game. I am not interested in keeping the game open or opening it again. I apologize that the game closing has made many players disappointed or even sad. I'm really, really sorry. I know how much Himitsu means to many players, and I don't feel good about disappointing them. But I am not going to argue about this again. I've already gave my reasons here, as well as have personal reasons behind this I'd rather not disclose.

I am not sure how many of you were witness to the ridiculous drama over even a possible closing that occurred here on April 29th (the person deleted their post), but after that I am just done. I've never been in a TCG that consulted the players about a hiatus or a closing, and I've never seen anyone get mad about it. I can think of two popular TCG's that recently and suddenly closed/went on indefinite hiatus for similar reasons, without offering the game up for adoption, and no one got mad about it.

I'm sorry but I'll be turning off the comments, I've made my decision and I don't want to keep going back and forth about the fate of Himitsu. It's stressing me out.

If you haven't played the bonus rounds from this post, please go do that soon! They'll close when this post does, and those games will have their rewards doubled for next week. Hangman & Matching Cards rewards are the same as usual because I'm not sure how to alter their codes. orz

Take choice cards spelling out RIP IN PEACE. One per deck, the card doesn't have to start with the same letter. Puzzles and specials are OK!
