I'm too old to know what's retro anymore I can't believe this but REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA. It is my all time favorite anime my reason my life. I watched it when I was super itty bitty and it helped so much to shape who I am today. The Gunbuster series was responsible for getting me really into mecha. I don't know where I would be without ladies in giant robots yelling about never giving up. I also recently watched Angel's Egg for the first time and ooooooooh my GOSH it was gorgeous. The art is great and it demonstrates incredible use of religious symbols and imagery. That slow zoom out of the last shot to show the (spoilers) was SO GREAT MAN OH MAN.
As for games, the original Crash Bandicoot holds a special lil place in my heart. It was one of the first games I remember playing, and I always played it a lot with my pops. I was too scared to jump over holes because I didn't want to mess up and I would leave the playstation on all day until he got home from work so I could make him do it for me ~ v ~
