This may be unsurprising yet disappointing (and for that I'm sorry), but...
Himitsu will be closing on June 6th, 11:59PM EST. For the rest of May and that first week of June, game prizes will be doubled or tripled, there will be various freebies, it will cost
one magazine for books/BD's, and restrictions will be taken off of services. Book donations will be open, but deck and graphic donations are closed. Unfortunately, there will not be a release. Once June 7th rolls around, new posts will stop. Any leftover pending comments will still be responded to, but that's it. This is so everyone has a chance to finish collecting decks and so we can go out with a bang!
scblakdrgon: "For Bookstore Donations, you may donated as many times as you want but only 3 donations per comment and there must be 1 comment between your donations UNLESS you are donating a single series. You may put them in the same comment in that case.
And adding on to Lily's announcement about the change in the magazine to book/bd rate, everyone who has purchased books/bds in May can go back to their original post and pick out more books. I will be going around to the posts as well.
I considered for a few days putting Himitsu up for player adoption (as the staff isn't interested), but in the end I honestly believe it's just time to put the game to pasture. Himitsu has been slowly dying for a while now, I think journal-based TCG's in general are dying out (the exception being Colors). It's obvious from the donations, the games, the services, and the double Gatherings. I mean, one of the Anniversary posts had no activity on it
at all. It's honestly just... sort of sad. Please don't get me wrong. It makes me happy that those of you that have stuck around love this TCG, even to the point of offering help! I'm just doing what I think is best.
EDIT: There seems to have been a misunderstanding.
No one has offered to take over the game. I was referring to how players were nice enough to offer help with game modding in the past. None of the staff is interested in taking over the game. I am not interested in keeping the game open or opening it again.
I apologize that the game closing has made many players disappointed or even sad. I'm really, really sorry. I know how much Himitsu means to many players, and I don't feel good about disappointing them. But I am not going to argue about this again. I've already gave my reasons here, as well as have personal reasons behind this I'd rather not disclose.
I am not sure how many of you were witness to the ridiculous drama over even a
possible closing that occurred here on April 29th (the person deleted their post), but after that I am just
done. I've never been in a TCG that consulted the players about a hiatus or a closing, and I've never seen anyone get mad about it. I can think of two popular TCG's that recently and suddenly closed/went on indefinite hiatus for similar reasons, without offering the game up for adoption, and no one got mad about it.
I'm sorry but I'll be turning off the comments, I've made my decision and I don't want to keep going back and forth about the fate of Himitsu. It's stressing me out.
