Are we going by Japanese or US release dates? Perhaps not such a big deal for anime, but for games it seems to be a big deal.

Also what about new incarnations of series/franchises? The example I'm thinking of is Pokemon X/Y which was released in 2013, but is an older franchise. (It's not a direct sequel, but there are mentions of people from other games.)
