Welcome to DISCUSSION!

Hi, everyone! Once a week, I'm going to give you a topic. All players need to do is give their opinions/stories/comments on said topic. There's nothing really formal about this, but you'll get cards for answering regardless. There's no requirement about how big or detailed of an answer you give, but try to avoid one word answers! (This is about talking, after all)

This week's topic is HALLOWEEN.

A question you could answer (but are not limited/required to) is What do you like best about Halloween? The last few rounds have been Halloween-related, but since this one runs across the date itself, you can talk about whatever here! And if you don't like Halloween/don't celebrate it, maybe we can talk about something scary instead!

You'll get 2 regular cards and 1 puzzle card for commenting. Prizes will be distributed throughout the week and this game ends on Tuesday, November 4th.

ALL THESE HALLOWEEN-RELATED DISCUSSIONS... yeah we don't celebrate it here very much so i just end up getting it through internet hype tbh

my idea of halloween is watching all the halloween specials online... all my favourite youtubers are doing them although one of them reminded me that the goosebumps books were a thing, speaking of scary things.. those were terrible but what's worse is that the cover from it i remember the most is this one

what a magnificent title for a scary book

I love seeing other people's costumes! No matter if they were handmade or store bought or they just decided to dress in a garbage bag or something, costumes are a neat way for me to see people's creativity and taste and stuff. And now that I'm an old hag who doesn't go trick or treating, I like all the horror movie marathons TV tends to run on Halloween.

I've never celebrated Halloween, but I recently got a puppy and hands down I want to move to a community just for dog owners and have a giant dog-costume-bash-bloc-party because omg the costumes are so ridiculous, and what's funnier than seeing a dog in hamburger or superhero costumes being walked around for dog treats? Answer: not much.

I don't celebrate it much now, but when I was a kid, my friends and I went trick or treating every Halloween and we'd get nearly two buckets full each. Those lasted about 2 weeks, yeah it was when I still had my primary teeth and didn't really care about cavities.

I love Halloween. I love the costumes, the creepy decor, the candy...Everything! Even though I don't like scary movies or whatever, I love skeletons and ghosts all over the place! I love seeing costumes and wearing costumes, even though I'm an adult!

I really like Halloween for the horror stuff! That's mainly it, I love the decoration and the increase of interest in horror things! Much how people love Christmas decorations, I really just like Halloween ones! So much you can do. Halloween isn't very big in japan tbh, but In a lot of cultures, its like Crazy big! I love it ;; Someday, Ill have a lot of money and just have one huge halloween town (they sell these little houses and figures that light up that you put on display! its really cool! I seen it in a few stores.)

Halloween... oh goodness. The things I love about this holiday, I can probably fill a book case with. It's always been my favorite holiday, even as a kid. I loved dressing up, I loved going trick or treating (which I did until I was 17), and I loved all the decorations. I swear to god that one day if I ever buy my own house the outside will always look like a graveyard. I'll always leave my Halloween wreath up outside because it's just so me. And actually last year when we decorated for Halloween we got this flat sparkly skull wreath that I hung in place of a graveyard sign I'd had there for years. Buuut I also collect stuff around Halloween. For the longest time, I'd always get some new skull or skeleton decoration to add to my collection because it was my thing and I love that kind of stuff. Nothing pleases me more, than not being me for a day.

Besides the decorations though I just... I love this time of year. I love the feeling that comes with it. But I think that some of that is because I know what Halloween really represents and I have certain things I've done since being a teenager (silent dinners in honor of the spirits and my ancestors) that I tend to look forward to each year. It's a very spiritual time for me, no puns intended.

I love that one of the movie channels plays all of the old "horror" movies. I just watched "Dracula Rises from the Grave". Later, it's Vincent Prince in House of Wax. I also love that I get to wear cosplay to work. Oh, and the candy. And the haunted houses. I love those. I used to work at one back in the day.

I guess you could say Halloween is my favorite holiday ever.

sadly we don't celebrate it here. we do have something else that you could compare at some point. it is on 11th of November and called Sint maarten. Children will go from door to door with a lantarn and sing a song in front of each door. in return they get a piece of candy

I LIKE WHEN PEOPLE COME TO MY DOOR AND GO TRICK OR TREAAAAT it makes me really happy to see them happy (for the candy they're gonna get). And I like that I get to eat the leftover candy at the end of the night... and that I can pillage my little brother's bag when he gets home, too. Plus all the good and not so good horror movies come on around and on Halloween so mo_om that's always a plus.

I absolutely love Hallowwen. I especially liked the free candy when I was a kid. I still do, really. I wasn't particularly fond of wearing costumes, though, since I never had one I really liked.

my absolute favourite thing is seeing what people can create when it comes to costumes and the like! but a close second would definitely be all the sweets that go on sale during it, tbh.

I love Halloween... But being in the UK we don't get to 'do' the holiday like they do in the states and other places. We probably won't even get trick or treaters tonight! It's a little sad... I wish we did more for Halloween as a country, it's such a fun, silly holiday, an excuse to dress up and scare each other!

All I can do, in honour of Halloween, is to eat chocolate and sweets and watch a scary movie~

i like dressing up the most even though i haven't done it much since i was a kid... it's just really nice to see people get creative or even just go above and beyond what they would normally wear for the sake of having fun. like a cosplay holiday basically

I just like the general atmosphere of Halloween! I don't do much anymore but everyone always seems to be in such a good mood. I like the decorations and I have good memories of going trick-or-treating with my friends and family when I was a kid.

I love Halloween, it is my second favorite holiday. Mostly I enjoy the dress-up aspect and I love to see kids in their costumes all excited about trick-or-treating or partying! But the friendly-spooky atmosphere of most places is adorable as well.

The color scheme (purple/orange/green/black/silver) of most Halloween decorations can't be beat either! It's the only holiday with my favorite color in it, sigh.

AND PUMPKINS I LOVE PUMPKINS. Some of the stuff people can do with a jack-o-lantern is unreal.
