Welcome to DISCUSSION!

Hi, everyone! Once a week, I'm going to give you a topic. All players need to do is give their opinions/stories/comments on said topic. There's nothing really formal about this, but you'll get cards for answering regardless. There's no requirement about how big or detailed of an answer you give, but try to avoid one word answers! (This is about talking, after all)

This week's topic is SEQUELS.

A question you could answer (but are not limited/required to) is do you love sequels or hate them? Are they ever as good as the first installment? Is there a show/game/etc. you like that you wish had gotten a sequel?

You'll get 2 regular cards and 1 puzzle card for commenting. Prizes will be distributed throughout the week and this game ends on Thursday, March 19th. CLOSED!

I thought I was going to really hate Free! Eternal Summer because I thought Free! wrapped itself up nicely....and then it proved me WRONG. Geez.

You either hate them or love them, now lets talk about Aldnoah.Zero.. first series I enjoyed very much, the ending was okay but then the first series of the seconds series... well wtf is everyone doing?! (I can't say to much without spoilers... )

I just think it depends on how the sequel is executed. If I think of a sequel like Tales of Xillia 2 it was amazingly well done (although the feels are strong in that one). But when I think of Sword Art Online...the first half of the anime was great but the second half killed it (way to make a strong female character useless) and then to add a sequel atop of it? It wrapped up! It had an ending! So why keep going?

I have a love/hate relationship with sequels.

For example, I loved Gatchaman II a lot more than the original Gatchaman anime to the point I would say it's one of Tatsunoko's greatest animes. I really love how polar opposite and refreshing Gundam ZZ was to Z Gundam even though most Gundam fans don't.

However, the sequels to Sorcerous Stabber Orphen and Weiß Kreuz were horrible and probably something I try my hardest to forget that they were even created. They ruined the characters so much, it made me want to smash my head on a wall.

I was and still am sad that the sequel for Martian Successor Nadesico was canceled in the pre-production stage, even though that was over ten years ago. I would have like to see what they would have done with it and if it would have been just as crazy.

kind of neutral about sequels, it can be a hit or miss with them...
i trust adapted manga sequels since those never let me down (that i know of)

Berg Katse cackles evilly and makes it so that everyone commenting has to watch the sequel of their least favorite anime

i love tos2 while the universe almost seems to collectively shit on it so that's something

but no really, i think sequels should be treated more or less the same as anything else. sometimes they're great, sometimes they're not. of course, no one likes having the same issue dragged out and rehashed over multiple installments.

Nothing against them really. ^^ Sometimes they can be good, sometimes they can be better than the original! And sometimes they can be so bad they make you wanna gouge your eyes out... It all depends~

I am a big defender of sequels - yes, they can suck, but a lot of times they can also be really good. It's frustrating to me when people look down on something because it's a sequel without any other information. D:

i usually hate sequels tbh u__u i don't know what it is about me but i just feel like they never live up to their originals. it's nice when sequels continue on from the original or revisit old characters but i hate it when they introduce a whole new set of characters, it destroys me T_T

It reallyyy depends for me like they can be Great or they can be a nightmare ...all I can do is pray for it not to be the latter for a series I love lmao ( ・ั﹏・ั) What I would actually like is a proper sequel to AA4/the Apollo Justice game honestly... the loose ends will be the death of me (sheds a tear)
