Welcome to DISCUSSION!

Hi, everyone! Once a week, I'm going to give you a topic. All players need to do is give their opinions/stories/comments on said topic. There's nothing really formal about this, but you'll get cards for answering regardless. There's no requirement about how big or detailed of an answer you give, but try to avoid one word answers! (This is about talking, after all)

This week's topic is VIDEO GAMES.

A question you could answer (but are not limited/required to) is what's your favourite game? Visual novels are included in this.

You'll get 2 regular cards and 1 puzzle card for commenting. Prizes will be distributed throughout the week and this game ends on Tuesday, August 12th at 11:59 MST.

I really like Pokemon and Legend of Zelda (Twilight Princess.) I grew up with Pokemon, and I recently (maybe a year ago) started playing Twilight Princess. They're wonderful games.

I especially like Mystery Dungeon for Pokemon... But I only have Red Rescue Team. *recently found my gameboy advance*

since i think you're looking for games originating from japan.....persona 4 probably LMAo i haven't played a lot of games because i don't have the consoles...i've watched playthroughs of xillia (almost all the way through, i have to ask shannon what part we were on) and atelier escha & logy and um.......that's it. oh yeah and i've read playthroughs for both dangan ronpa games?

oh i also loved katawa shoujo or katawa shuojo as known by cards against humanity

i'm laughing so hard since you included vns and then i'd probably be here like IDK I LOVE HAKUOUKI AND UMINEKO AND TOKI NO KIZUNA AND HIGURASHI AND EVEN FATE/STAY IN THE KITCHEN EVERY VN EVER..

but i guess since i actually play regular games too uhhh i guess according to steam i play civ v way too much.. they have the netherlands i can't help but play it ok. i also recently finished little inferno god that was a good game

oh my god katy no i have way too many video games..............

BUT TO TRY AND NARROW IT DOWN Xenosaga 3, Tales of Vesperia, Persona 3, Nier, and Valkyria Chronicles are some of my favorites. I'm the JRPG trash everyone loves to hate I can't deny it.... And to try to add SOME substance to this comment when it comes to gameplay I'm awful at tactics rpgs, okay but not in love with turn-based rpgs, and love free range running around rpgs. This is probably why I like the Tales of series so much.

my favorite video game from the atelier series is atelier meruru (i clocked in way too many hours into that game alchemy is addicting why)

I guess story wise would be Nier??? It's got an amazing ost and plot. Plus it also does neat things to change up the gameplay every now and then cries

Video games are my life but I can't concentrate on one game too long or I get bored.

My all time favourite game is...I can't pick but I wish Dark Cloud 2 would get a re-release on PSN. Though right now I'm being eaten by FFXIV, Tomodachi Life with Conception II on the side annnd I'm eagerly waiting for DA3, SW4... And also Gakuen K!

persona 3, persona 2, animal crossing: new leaf, some final fantasys, devil survivor, devil survivor 2, fire emblem: awakening, pokemanz, twewy, the legend of zelda: ocarina of time - i always loved riding on epona when i was younger.....
And probably......... more since my memory is pretty bad I guess I enjoyed these the most!!

On the Japanese game side: Final Fantasy IV, VI, IX, Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3, The World Ends With You, 999, Persona 4, the third Ace Attorney game, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Professor Layton series, Okami

Non-Japanese games: Sam & Max Hit the Road, Curse of Monkey Island, Baldur's Gate II, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.

Hahaha I can't... pick... Legend of Mana is probably my favourite game ever (also has one of my favourite soundtracks, so good), but I also love Bioshock, Ace Attorney, GrimGrimoire, Lunar (Silver Star and Eternal Blue), Zero Escape, and a bunch of other JRPG/simulator series where I can't pick a favourite (Suikoden, Tales, Star Ocean, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory).

Ahh, way too many. For Japanese games, I like a lot of SMT games and related spin-offs (especially Persona 2, Persona 4, Nocturne, and SMTIV), Catherine, Mother 3, FFVI, FFIX, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Suikoden III, Okami, Pokemon... among others, lol.

And for non-Japanese games... the Dragon Age series, Fallout: New Vegas, Civilization IV, and Baldur's Gate II.

Too many to list... Kingdom Hearts, definitely, as well as Pokemon games because who doesn't like those. I'm kind of sucked into Tomodachi Life right now (and even though it's a western game, Fallout 3 is an addiction at the moment). OH also Final Fantasy VIII was my first FF game, but I love X (and by extension X-2 though I do see its flaws) and XII and XIII (all installments), how could I not. Also pretty much any Zelda game you throw at me, I'll play and love. I still have my NES with the first game, so Zelda has been in my life basically as soon as I was born. (one day I'll get that tattoo of the royal family crest damnit)

Uhh... yeah I think that's it aside from other western games that I love (the recent Batman games, the Warcraft series including the MMO like hot damn), but I'd definitely say the Zelda series is my favorite with Kingdom Hearts coming in a close second c:

i have so many favourite video games but i have to say earthbound, MOTHER 3, or just the MOTHER series in general. they do something that other games just can't do, and lives up to it's descriptor of "strange, funny, heartrending" like nothing else can, even after all these years.

I love survival horror games! The Resident Evil games have a place in my heart (and I was thinking of making a donation deck or two for them! XDD), but my all time fave game is a little known game called Shadow Hearts... I lost that game years ago when it was stolen along with my console and a bunch of other games, but it was an amazing game. Had horror elements, rp elements, funny and interesting characters and beautiful music... and a heartbreaking storyline... I miss that game. I need to get it back at some time!

I don't play video games very often, but when I do, I enjoy playing Dangan Ronpa & Super Dangan Ronpa 2 a whole lot! Both games include many characters I love, and I've always enjoyed challenging myself to complete the trials on my own, too. Other than those two, I'm also a fan of the Persona series, tho I've only ever played Persona 3 and 4. I should probably try to change that and play more of the older games one of these days.

I LOVE DANGAN RONPA as you definitely cannot tell from my user name. i've only read the lp for both games and played the second one in japanese, though.

persona is also a good choice!! i've only played p3 and watched a lp for 4...........but one day i'll get to 2. one day.

I'm totally the dorkiest dork to ever dork. I love the Pokemon franchise. I've been playing since way way back when Red and Blue came out. I have played every generation except for Ruby and Sapphire, that came out while I was in the army/basic training, so I sort of couldn't. I will be rectifying that when Alpha and Omega come out.

I also love Harvest Moon, especially the fantasy Rune Factory. I've played all of those too.

I want to get into visual novels more. Unfortunately, all I can play is the downloadable ones that have been translated. Or watching Let's Play.

ahhh that's cool! i'm a pokemon nerd too, i still remember playing the very first games. my cousin laura restarted my blue version and named herself LAURA so i've been using various names similar to that ever since, haha.

vns are great! have you tried umineko/higurashi? higurashi is my forever vn, and it's all translated, and will be on steam soon!

The only games I've recently played have been RPG Maker horror ones haha... ha. I don't game too often much anymore, I get distracted easily. But I have to say one of my favorite games, if not my very favorite game, is called Okage: Shadow King! It's an old PS2 game about an ordinary boy who has his shadow possessed by an evil king. It's very cute and funny and all the characters are great, I love it so much.

KINGDOM HEARTS /)(\ I'm not really into the franchise or the spin off games as much but the original Kingdom Hearts is forever my favorite video game ever FIGHT ME ON THAT.

I do really like the Zelda and Pokemon franchises though! eta: OH RIGHT and Ace Attorney, which is my forever series.

I HAVE NEVER PLAYED THAT i played like. up until the mirror boss in the game with aqua. that is the extent of my kh knowledge. BUT IT WAS FUN and kh itself looks fun too.

persona 2... i bet that's a huge shock to everyone... LMAO. i really feel that all together it has the strongest story and characters in the whole persona series but some of the old clunky mechanics make it understandably hard for people to get through it... plus i think the omission of some details that are now only found in databooks is detrimental, but i just love the games so much ok. i prefer innocent sin and think it is overall the better game, mainly because maya is so ill-suited to being a silent protagonist and i think eternal punishment suffers for having to use your imagination for her positive outlook. i wish everyone would play them tho 8(

one day i'll play them :'( ONE DAY... I KEEP TELLING MYSELF THAT... I WILL DEFINITELY DO IT THOUGH. even just because the characters look adorable and sad.

but also because man, older smt games are so hardcore in terms of intense plot. p3 and p4 are so tame compared to the other stuff. i've been playing strange journey lately and i'm just like JESUS CHRIST and it's still tamer compared to the others. from what i know, p1/p2 are like that too LMAO

KINGDOM HEARTS forever and for always. I picked that game up as a kid because ~ooh disney~ and here i am 10 years later still emotionally compromised by Riku's character arc. out of all the games, my two favorites are Birth By Sleep and 3D. BBS had a sweet battle system and a story that just made me want to cry with all the parallels and backstory. Then 3D had an equally good battle system and the added bonus of TONS OF RIKU. also a hunchback of notre dame world, which i have been waiting for since KH2.

I'm also a huuuuuge fan of portal. I looooove puzzle games and this one just knocks everything out of the park. Mostly via GLaDOS <3

I don't usually play since I do not own any console, and you seriously can't consider playing games on a Mac (it's terribly slow, and my mac usually goes into meltdown mode only 2 minutes in). BUT I play a lot of games on iDevice, especially CCGs (Collectible Card Game) where trading isn't allowed... currently playing this Korean-based one called Devil Maker Tokyo; it has really pretty artwork for cards, which is why I play...

When I did own a DS though, I played Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts and Legend of Zelda! I also tried TWEWY and Kirby too and loved them hahaha. I would have really liked to play Fe:a had I still my DS... orz orz

Other than that, I'm really not a gamer much!

Um I guess its a tie between Silent Hill or Biohazard series in general. Both games I love a lot, and have been with the series since I was a little kid! Both were some of our first PS1 games (Biohazard we got day one, though silent hill we got years later obviously...) I would say they are my favorite ones!

My favourite game franchises of all time would have to be Pokemon and Kirby - I grew up with them, and they were my first fandoms. Kirby's Epic Yarn has one of my favourite soundtracks of all time, and gen 5 of Pokemon literally made me cry with its plot and characters ;3;

Aside from those two, I'm into the Tales series, Dangan Ronpa and SMT Persona as of right now! I just finished Tales of Xillia a couple of days ago (and put in a pre-order for Xillia 2 today...), and P3P+P4G and DR Reload were definitely worth buying a Vita for.
