Welcome to DISCUSSION!

Hi, everyone! Once a week, I'm going to give you a topic. All players need to do is give their opinions/stories/comments on said topic. There's nothing really formal about this, but you'll get cards for answering regardless. There's no requirement about how big or detailed of an answer you give, but try to avoid one word answers! (This is about talking, after all)

This week's topic is SPORTS TEAMS. I mean the anime/manga/game/etc ones. Not real ones. You can talk about those too, if you want.

A question you could answer (but are not limited/required to) is what is your favourite sports team?

You'll get 2 regular cards and 1 puzzle card for commenting. Prizes will be distributed throughout the week and this game ends on Tuesday, September 3rd.

I DON'T REALLY WATCH SPORTS ANIME... but the one time I did was Giant Killing, and I remember liking all the characters in the East Tokyo United soccer team. If only I actually cared about soccer.

I don't know why I watched it either but yeah they're my favorite team.

the only real sports team i can remember instantly is minako's volleyball team at high school but they hardly show anything of that.. in fact they never show any of the other members IT'S A ONE PERSON TEAM.. although lbr if anyone could pull that off it's minako

i guess the closest i've got to sports teams are the teams from dmmd?? rhyme and rib are like.. sort.. of.. like sports, right.. beating up people totally counts as sports, doesn't it.. if wrestling is a sport then this is too okay!! because in that case dry juice is my jam mizuki's team is so cute how he wants them all to be like family dang that's adorable!! and at least their logo isn't entirely confusing like how mink's team has a rain.. bow.. even though it's a group of convicts?? i'll never understand yaoi trash

I think i tried prince of tennis once a long time ago?? Then there was Free... SPOTS ANIME!! They had those sports teams in persona games and i always picked soccer in persona 4

the only thing i like less than otomes but yet still completely immersed myself in is sports anime... and also 500+ chapters of shounen. so i don't really have a favourite team. um... i like the swim club in amagami? dangan ropa girl jocks... is that a thing... softenni?? for the sole reason of making me learn about the existence of "soft tennis"

you know you don't ask someone from michigan what their favorite Real sports team is... nevermind the fact that i don't actually care about hockey. ANYHOOT, i don't watch sports anime! or read sports manga. ai has been trying to get me to watch free for a while now, but i just don't... care about sports anime. i think the closest i got to actually caring about sports teams in anime/manga is when i was reading-- uhhh i can't even remember the name of it if that tells you anything LMAO google here i come...!

haha yeahhh I don't really watch sports anime. I got roped into watching Free! which is okay I guess but it's also not really a sports anime let's be real. OH I did read several volumes of Eyeshield 21 and I liked it a looot. but I never finished reading it and that's sad. maybe some day.

the better question is where's all my super popular girls' sports anime!! give me a roller derby yuri series or give me death!!!

Oh good grief. This one I could go in-depth gushing over, because I have so much love for two teams from Prince of Tennis. The series itself is really stupid, but the characters are so much love... and I have such undying affections for both Rikkai and Shitenhouji. Plus I take great pride in being one of the first people to play Shiraishi in an RP and still be playing him in a game now. That's like 7 years of consistency lol. But like. In one team (Shitenhouji) you have a speed freak, a perfectionist, an overgrown hippy, a hipster, a tag-team of comedic idiots, a guy no one ever remembers, their hot coach, and finally the hyper little redheaded cherry on top. But then you have the other team (Rikkai) who are full of serious badasses. They're just this powerhouse of dedicated players that I honestly can't begin to gush about because I've loved them for so long that I just can't deconstruct all that love without rambling too much.

That said, I've only ever gotten into one other sports anime, and that was Kuroko no Basuke. I don't actually love teams as much as I love characters for it, though. Granted most of them are from Seirin but it's hard not to love those dorks.

THIS IS MY KIND OF QUESTION!
I don't know why I love sports anime/manga so much because I can't stand watching real life sports.
I was gonna say obviously it has to be the Deimon Devil Bats, from Eyeshield 21, but then I had to punch my self in the face because no matter how much I love Hiruma he will never beat my love for any of my Prince of Tennis babies. And my favorite team would have to be Seigaku, it has all of my babies, so I have to love them. I even love the past Seigaku captain, and I feel like he only shows up in like a couple of chapters of New Prince of Tennis. My only problem with Seigaku is how easily the 3rd years win, except against each other because then Tezuka is king. Also, on a side note, my favorite Haikyuu! teams are tied for Karasuno and Nekoma because I'm indecisive and I love just about everyone.

Not a sports anything fan, so the only sports teams I know are the ones from Persona 3 and 4, although I guess I like the P4 ones better.

Ahh... I have to lame this out and talk about in-real life sports /_\ I watch some sports anime, but I really don't know to much on them to discuss teams. (If you asked me this when I was in middle school back in 2002 or so, I have been able to tell you my favorite team in Eyeshield, but I honestly forgot all the team names (I did like the Egyptian-themed one from an earlier part, and the western-american team!)

I like Sports in real life though! I love soccer a lot and American Wrestling (though the latter I guess isn't a real sport.) I really like the team Samurai Blue and CSKA. Though, I am a huge fan of Keisuke Honda, so I guess I am starting to like Milan as well too! When he was with CSKA though, I started to really like them!

Not a huge sports anime viewer here. I once started watching Prince of Tennis because I enjoy tennis, but I didn't stick with it. Pretty sure I have seen two episodes of Free! as well. A lot of people I know enjoy Free! though and I thought the first few episodes were cute so I'd definitely keep watching! I think it's funny that the two sports anime I've tried are from the high school sports I played. I don't do too much with sports in real life either apart from going to my cousins' various school sports events...and even then, half of them are not exciting to me. Whoops.

OH I JUST REMEMBERED the football episode of FMP Fumoffu, that was an experience. Not quite a team anime but definitely something to remember, haha.

only sports anime/manga/anything i've really paid any attention to for more than a few seconds is free, so B') my favourite team is the samezuka team in the second season. rin having a team of wide varieties of personalities is really awesome to me, since in the first season he was a little buttmunch - the way they all bounce off each other is interesting and fun too.

I don't really like sports in real life and I like sports series even less. Of all real life sports, though, I hate football the most. I think it's boring and I have terrible memories of the one time I had to be a cheerleader at one.

However, I freaking love the Devilbats from Eyeshield 21. I love that manga in general. It made me semi-understand football, at least enough to know that Hiruma is a killer quarterback and that all the different special components are important on a team. I especially love the Ha Ha Bros, who play defense.

I also like the Samezuka swim team. Yeah, that's right, not Iwatobi. Rin and both Mikoshibas are the best.

This also has nothing to do with anime or manga but Space Jam is the best sports film of all time. Come on and slam.

I don't watch sports in real life. I can't say I've ever been able to get into a sports anime/manga either. Nothing against them personally, but they're really not my thing.

I love Ookiku Furikabutte's Nishiura team to bits! Mainly because it has a very balanced cast of different personalities who interact quite interestingly uwu (though honestly nowadays this is what's in almost all sports animes) But in here they're not typical character personalities either! It's probably one of the only sports team that I know really really well (because I've rewatched this tooooo manyyyy timeeeeeeesss).

For other series, I personally find Prince of Tennis very interesting for the fact that I remember all the teams quite well (maybe not the names because I'm bad with those anyways) but I like how it's not.... that easy to forget representatives of each team and the fact that they keep coming back (though ok with PoT being LONG it... has to happen). It's a huge cast, but one that you're always always super familiar with and no one seems to be really minor.

This is also the case with Inazuma Eleven! Everyone is really colorful too, so that helps in remembering a lot of the teams, especially in the original Inazuma.

I say this but honestly there's... a lot of animes where if no one really stands out, I won't remember the minor teams/characters and I find that a pity :c it might be my brain though

If I had to say ONE FAVORITE........................ then I might say Oofuri's Nishiura and i11's Inazuma Japan because those two are the ones I'm too familiar with.... and they're....close to my heart.... cries

Sports anime is like my crack. I love so many of them. I love One Outs and Major and also Oofuri. and I need to start watching Diamond No Ace. I found that Bamboo Blade was super cute. And Hinata from Haikyuu is a precious baby that must be protected at all costs. But since this teams and not shows...I'll go with Prince of Tennis and Higa.

Higa doesn't get much love at all. The author purposly made them into the bad guys for the arc. He even apologized to the people of Okinawa for making them villains because the team is from Okinawa. However, I seriously feel that they get the short end of a lot of sticks because they do what other teams before them did. It was just that they were offset by Rokkaku which is like the nicest team evers... Also, you got to give it to their captain. He took a bunch of Martial Artists (aka they didn't play much tennis) and took them to Semi-finals in like one year. I'd like to see Yukimura or Atobe do that.

I'm a huge sports anime/manga fan whyyyy. I'm going to cheat and list several. Haikyuu is one of my favourites and I pretty much adore all of the teams (except Johzenji, I did not care for Terushima) and now that there can only be one winner, my heart is being torn apart because I want them all to win. ;__; I guess I'd go with Karasuno, with Aobajousai a very close second.

Like many others, I also adore the Devil Bats from Eyeshield 21. I also like Seigaku from Yowamushi Pedal. And Shohoku from Slam Dunk. And Seishu from Cross Game. And-- *gets stuff thrown at her*

Actually, after listing all of those, I'd have to go with Shohoku from Slam Dunk because they're all such huge, silly dorks.

I have no opinion of them, really. ^^; I typically dislike sports anime and don't understand them. The only exception to this rule is Prince of Tennis, which I found myself enjoying. But this current slew of new sports anime I just... can't take to. ^^;

I don't have... one... I guess I like whatever team Hinata and Kageyama are on because they're dumb butts. I only know everything about Haikyuu from my sister. My sister keeps quoting this one part:
