questing 03

If you've ever played an RPG or an MMO, you'll probably have to complete a quest or two. When you go on these quests, you work a little or a lot and when you're done, you get a reward! This is a TCG version of that. Complete a job and get a prize!

Also in RPGs/MMOs, tasks are based on skill level. Some players are at different levels than others. In an MMO, it would be a little ridiculous for a Level 3 Tree Elf to a quest that was Level 82, wouldn't it? So some tasks can be based on your status in the TCG. This is based on what your level is when the game is posted. So if you're a level 2 now and you end up a level 6 by the end of this round, you still complete the quest that falls within the level ranks that you were when the game opened (so wherever 2 falls).

All tasks must be completed after this round has gone up, which includes all comments posted. If you posted a mastery/service comment/trade before the round goes up, it does not count. Cards can be gotten from any time, though, unless specified. Please do not post your tasks if they aren't complete. You do not have to earn the cards this month/game cycle unless otherwise stated.

Also, Questing will be a fluctuating game. Sometimes it will have general tasks, sometimes themed tasks. For this round, with some more help from Shannon ([personal profile] unlocks), our round is Free!! So please thank her!

Ready to see the quests for this round?

Haru says all the time he'll only swim free...so here's a freebie for you! Simply reply to your initial thread with a blank comment (or anything you'd like), and you'll get a prize!
PRIZE: Five regular cards, two special, two puzzle.

Rin went to Australia to train for swimming and lived there for quite a long time. Is there a place you'd like to visit? Have you ever moved to a different place for a long time? Experienced culture shock in any way? Tell us about your experiences with different places and foreign lands and cultures, or the places you'd like to experience those things at!
PRIZE: Five single cards, one choice puzzle, one choice special.

Makoto is a very nice guy, and very motherly...he might be able to be friends with anyone! So why don't we bring him more TCG friends, huh? Max out your deck donations (including special/puzzle, not including any extra coupons you have). For this task ignore the comment-before-entry rule. Decks you've donated before this post do count.
PRIZE: Eight regular cards, a pencil set.

Nagisa is a sucker for sweets - his favorite food is strawberry shortcake! Post three cards involving characters snacking on something. you will lose these cards.
PRIZE: Four single cards, one special, one puzzle.

Beauty...Rei likes things that are beautiful! To do things beautifully, ah that is a nice life. Since Himitsu has a lot of beautiful decks, list your favourite Himitsu decks! You have to pick three to six, but listing more is always acceptable!
PRIZE: Choice cards with a worth of six, two milk.

As the manager to the Iwatobi swim club, Gou has to keep all these boys in line and make sure they're doing their club activities properly. Turn in one card from each Iwatobi deck: freestyle, butterfly, breast, backstroke. You will lose these cards.
PRIZE: Six regular cards, two puzzle cards.

Nitori really admires his swimming senpai Rin. Leave a comment on the trading post (or somewhere public you can link to) of someone you really admire at Himitsu!
PRIZE: One choice card of any type, two random pencils.
BONUS: You can leave up to four comments on people's posts (that will count; feel free to do more), so you can up to quadruple your prize!

Being the captain of a swim team, Mikoshiba sees and interacts with a lot of people. Now you have to do the same! Trade with 20 different people! Trades must be initiated after this post goes up.
NOTE: Members Level 5 and below only have to trade with 10 people.
PRIZE: Ten random cards, a magazine set, two gray pencils.

Pick between one of the two.

GRAND PRIZE A: Two random puzzle cards with every mastery in November.
GRAND PRIZE B: One choice card per week for the rest of the year.

When posting your quests, do so in the following format: First, post a comment with your logs/card post and the subject line of "YOUR NAME'S QUESTS - LEVEL #". When you've completed a quest, then respond to that thread with the proof of completion and the subject line saying what task you completed (TASK 4, etc). Please note if you complete the bonus too. When you post the task that completes all of them, also put COMPLETE in the subject line. That way I'm sure you've done everything. You can complete tasks out of order!

If you're confused about the above see this example thread!

This round ends October 29th! Questions can be asked in the question thread!

Task 2

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, though my mom tried to transplant us into Florida when I was younger. She managed to succeed eventually, where I lived there for 11 years. There wasn't too much different about Florida in comparison to Pennsylvania, except more warm days and more sunshine. And a distinct lack of seasonal change, really. Okay, not really. You eventually notice it! It's just subtle changes and you can mostly tell when it's winter and when it's summer because it's HOTTER in the summer.

However, in June I moved to Texas. This is my first experience of culture shock! It's hard for me to explain how life in Texas is so different, other than to say I'm very, very bored. In Florida I got used to there always being something to do, since there are so many tourist-y things. I lived in an area that it was only an hour long drive to Orlando, so we normally had year long passes to places like Universal Studio's, Seaworld or Busch Gardens. We'd go to to a theme park at least five times a year, or go to tourist trap places like John's Pass, visit the beaches, or go to any one of the numerous aquariums. And while in Florida we had all manner of Hispanic life, there wasn't a lot of places actually geared toward it since the general populace of Florida is the elderly or tourists. Here in Texas... it's hard to go a block without seeing a Mexican restaurant or something Mexican themed. Walking into places like Walmart, you see items not typically sold in stores in other parts of the country. I've never seen cactus being sold in the produce department before! It's crazy. XD There's also all manner of Spanish being spoken around me that I don't understand. I've never had that before, and so far it's been a hard change for me on top of being ridiculously bored. Plus the stereotype about Texan's being huge football fanatics is true! I'm in hell now that football season is upon us...

I wish I could eat at Mexican food places... that might make finding a restaurant that isn't a bigger chain easy. ;; but I can't have spicy foods, my stomach would hate me.
